Fun Facts about Junie
Junie Spear is an American actor who began performing at the age of three and has worked in film, dance and theatre productions. She is also a language immersion student and a multilingual speaker.
Ever since Emmy award-winning director Katie O’Grady introduced Junie to screen acting she has had an immense passion for it. Junie has also been professionally inspired by her teachers and mentors Chris Schellenger, Kelcy Griffin, Timothy Hughes, Judine Somerville, choreographer James Gray and award-winning Broadway director and choreographer and Open Jar’s founder Jeff Whiting at the Open Jar Institute in New York City where she was invited to train in 2023. Most recently, Junie was thrilled to spend her summer (2024) at Stagedoor Manor in New York where she trained and performed in critically acclaimed author Alice Austen’s Girls in the Boat.
Junie is an accomplished hip hop dancer and volleyball player and is a quick study in all things sports and dance related. A language immersion student since kindergarten, Junie was awarded the Oregon State Seal of Bilteracy and was recently invited by JML Films to translate short films into French.
