Fun Facts about Carly
Carly Kennelly is a television news personality and public relations manager with a career spanning more than 20 years. She was born in Los Angeles, California to parents in the entertainment industry. Her father acted in a number of film and television productions and her mother worked at Warner Brothers. After earning a bachelor's degree in Radio/Television/Film, Carly started her television news career in Bryan, Texas. She worked as a general assignments reporter for the CBS affiliate, KBTX. While there she did stories on flooding, Texas A&M University, and former President George H. Bush. Carly then moved to Kennewick, Washington where she reported, produced and anchored the weekend news at the ABC affiliate, KVEW. Her final move was to Portland to become the traffic reporter for the CBS affiliate, KOIN. She spent 14 years in that role and was named Oregon's Best Traffic Reporter in 2008 by the Associated Press. Today, Carly fills in as a traffic reporter on KPTV's Good Day Oregon. She is also the PR and Communications Manager for George Fox University, the largest private university in Oregon. Carly has a number of other passions that keep her busy. She is a certified personal trainer who prefers teaching group fitness classes. She is a member of the Columbia Agility Team and competes with her dogs in the canine sport of agility. Carly loves riding horses, playing golf and traveling. She's married to her high school sweetheart and together they have a son who was born through IVF and surrogacy.
