Laura Nelsen

Laura is a recently retired elementary school Kindergarten teacher (42 years). She misses this job, but has been lucky enough to work for a local university mentoring new teachers. She loves to sing (alto) and has performed with many choirs and choruses. Laura plays the piano fairly well and gives beginning piano lessons to children. She is so happy to be embracing acting in her retirement. It was a passion in HS, but because she wanted to be a teacher, she didn’t pursue it in college. Every day of teaching was a performance! Laura trains with Kristina Haddad of the Acting Lab where she studies improv, acting techniques and scene work. It is the highlight of her week!
